Priming A FlowZone Sprayer

Modified on Mon, 20 Apr at 11:12 AM

Tools Needed: garden hose (or something similar), fresh water

Sometimes, although rare, after a long period of storage, the sprayer's diaphragm pump may become non-responsive. Priming the system correctly is critical to restoring functionality. One of the most effective methods is forcing water into the pump through the inlet filter inside the tank.

Watch:

Step-By-Step Instructions:

STEP 1: Locate And Remove The Mesh Screen Holder From The Inlet Filter

a. Take the tank lid off and locate the inlet filter at the bottom of the tank.

b. Turn the inlet filter until the mesh screen is facing up.

c. Gently detach the white mesh screen holder from the inlet filter.

Note: on Series 2/2.5 units, the rubber elbow must be removed with the screen attached.

STEP 2: Prepare To Deliver Water Through The Inlet Filter Barb

a. Insert a charged battery into the sprayer's battery holster.

b. Bring the garden hose up to the inlet filter barb inside the tank.

STEP 3: Deliver Water Through The Inlet Filter Barb

a. Turn the sprayer on the highest setting (level 5).

b. Turn on the water and allow water to enter through the inlet filter barb.

c. Meanwhile, rapidly squeeze and release the spray gun trigger until water exits the spray gun.

Note: the nozzle and spray wand can be removed before attempting to prime the sprayer.

STEP 4: Reassemble The Inlet Filter
